UK Auditors Slam Golden Parachute for Ex-SFO Official - Corruption Currents - WSJ

The U.K. National Audit Office slammed a 422,000 pounds retirement package issued to a former top official at the country’s top anti-corruption body.

Phillipa Williamson, the former chief executive of the U.K. Serious Fraud Office who unexpectedly resigned ahead of the departure of Director Richard Alderman, received GBP407,000 in pension-related costs and a separate payment of GBP15,000 without due process, according to a report from Amyas Morse, comptroller and auditor general.

Morse said in a statement that the SFO should have gained approval from the Cabinet Office for the payments, but there’s no evidence it received the go-ahead.
