Journalist Arrested in U.K. Tabloid Probe; Ex-News Corp. Execs in Court - Corruption Currents - WSJ


U.K. police arrested a woman Thursday as they continue to investigate bribery of public officials by journalists.

The woman, a 38-year-old journalist whose name was not released by police, was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to corrupt and suspicion of conspiracy to cause misconduct in a public office, police said.

She was freed on bail, and told to report to a police station in Sussex in March 2013, police said. More coverage of her arrest is here, here and here.

This marked the 53rd arrest in Operation Elveden, the Metropolitan Police investigation into bribery by journalists to public officials for information.
