Standard Chartered Says it will Pay $330 Million More over Iran Transactions - Corruption Currents - WSJ

Standard Chartered PLC said Thursday it expects to pay an additional $330 million to settle with U.S. authorities over transactions with Iranian clients that may have violated U.S. sanctions.

Taken together with the $340 million the London bank paid earlier this year to a New York regulator, its bill in the matter would total $670 million.

The bank said in a statement Thursday that it “remains in active and constructive” discussions with the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve and the Manhattan district attorney’s office, and that it anticipates the talks to “conclude very shortly.”
