For Jewish Latinos, Hanukkah Means Faith, Family… and Churros

Holiday pro tip: If ever an opportunity to consume as many fried foods as possible presents itself, you take it. The Jewish Latino community of South Florida totally gets this. And, as Rabbi Mordechai Lichy of the Habbad Spanish Center in Coral Springs likes to say, this community not only prays in Spanish — they “eat in Spanish,” too. And that means sugary churros and fried arepas for everyone.
