Stryker Corp., a medical-device company that disclosed in 2007 that it was the subject of a foreign bribery investigation in the U.S., is being probed by prosecutors in Poland.
The Associated Press reported Tuesday that prosecutors said they’re investigating Stryker, which is one of the world’s biggest medical, reconstructive and surgical technology companies.
Dozens of apartments and offices have been searched in recent months for evidence relating to allegations that employees of the Polish branch of Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Stryker offered bribes to hospital officials across the country in order to secure deals, AP reported. The investigation involves about 100 people and 51 hospitals, the report said.
A U.S. spokeswoman for the company declined to comment to Corruption Currents.
